This printer is small, light weight, holds more than one sheet of paper and prints in color and it can be battery powered. Nice addition!

Review: Great little printer!!
by: Gadget_Guru on date: August 2, 2006
I bought this printer at the bequest of a customer for his home office install. It works great and the Bluetooth option is worth getting! Basically the only difference between the 460C, 460WF and 460WBT is the type of card includes for the Compact Flash slot. WF has a Wireless CF card, and the WBT has a Bluetooth CF Card. If your laptop is bluetooth capable and WBT option is great - no wires and setup literally takes 5 mins. The printer turns on quickly (the self test is only a few seconds) and printing is very fast for an inkjet. Quality is par with other inkjets (not laser quality but very close). I highly recommend this printer for travellers or people who need something with small footprint for small spaces or those who want something light/sleep looking. HP came up with a winner with the 460c.

The printer is fast and the quality is great. I only wish that it could of been a little bit smaller for traveling. I did not get the batery or bluetooth, I should have. The wires are a pain.

This unit does a wonderful job in the field ... good print quality ... reliable and it's light weight, which to me is an added plus. I would recommend this printer for anyone who has a need to print items outside of the office or home.

I have no problems at all with this printer. It takes up very little space, is lightweight, and easy to set up and use. Though the battery and wireless card with our printer model were optional, I don't see any problem upgrading. It prints B@W very fast - faster than my HP Photosmart C4810 All-in-One. It worked perfectly with our Dell laptop.

Review: Quit working after printing three pages successfully
by: S. Stanley on date: November 16, 2006
Confusing light display (looking in the manual) told me there was a paper jam after printing three pages. There is no jam. There is nothing stuck in the printer. Sending it back now. I do not have time to troubleshoot a new printer that fails to work properly after three pages. (Maybe you won't have time either!) I am very tech savvy and have checked the manual. The device simply is defective.

I also noted that the top lid that folds down for packing to travel seems very flimsy. It's hard to imagine it would not break in time, and since it's the paper feeder, you'd be out of luck. I'd recommend something else.

Review: Don't buy this printer!!
by: E. Roberts on date: November 10, 2006
This printer is billed as being a portable printer, with the option of wireless connection. That's what I wanted - a wireless mobile printer. I know I should have checked further and found the other models with all the capabilities. But I didn't. This "moblile printer" has to be plugged in to 115 V, because it has no battery. (Batteries are extra, or are included with an upgraded model.) It also doesn't come with a wireless adapter card - Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. (Wireless adapters are extra, or are included with an upgraded model.) So, this "mobile printer" has to be plugged in to the wall and to your computer. That doesn't make it very mobile. In fact there are great ink jets for 1/2 the price that are available if you want to plug in cables. The CF slot on this printer is Type I, which is not noted anywhere on Amazon. The industry standard Wireless G cards are Type II, so they don't fit. Only the special HP Wireless G card is Type I, but even that isn't noted anywhere on Amazon. Buy the HP 460wf (wi-fi) or the HP460wbt (Bluetooth) instead. They include a battery and a wireless card. By the way, the printer itself is very good. But I hate the way it is being marketed!

Review: Great print quality
by: Erwin C. Baird on date: January 4, 2007
Bought this for work to go to a conference. (Hotel rips you off with printing fees at business center)

This printer is very fast and has great color print quality. I hooked up in my room via USB and was printing in no time. I haven't used enough to know about the ink refills, but compared to $1.00 a page at the hotel, this paid for itself in one weekend.

The best thing is how small it is. When it's all folded away, it measures 13.5 x 6.5 x 3" (kind of like an extra pair of shoes).

I'm going to Atlanta in a couple of weeks and this is going with me.

I can't find fault with this little printer, it just continues to amaze me. HP has always been a fine name brand, and their 460C proves it once again. The only thing it lacks is a paper catcher, but that is very minor with portability.

I usually not a big HP fan. But I took a chance and have not been disappointed yet. I use it with the ibook G4. Very easy to pack up.

Review: It's OK
by: SOGWAP on date: January 5, 2007
Not perfect. I read the reviews before purchasing. I was mislead a little because when I purchased the reviews were really good. Not blaming the reviewers. Everyone has their own opinion. It's an OK printer. Actually it performs wonderfully printing black, but Photo printing is really not that great. It is however a great small size and very light and convenient for travelling. If it's for business I would recommend it. It you wanted it for photos, I would probably say find another one. All in all it worked for my needs, but I do wish the photo quality was better.

I bought this printer a few months ago, and am very very pleased with it. I already have a photo printer and a large all in one at home, but needed something small to go with me during travel. Ultimately I bought it just for business paper work, etc..but found that it prints out great photos too! These people that complaining about it are wrong, it is a portable printer after all! Its small (which makes it portable) it prints excellent, and also produces great photos. The wires don't bother me, just a couple plugs into the wall and the laptop and you are good to go...

This compact printer is far better than the heavy duty, multi task printers. We liked it so much that we bought a second printer for our summer home.

I really love the size of the HP Deskjet 460c mobile printer. It prints clearly and quickly. The only thing I don't like, is that if it is installed for USB connection, you can not use it wirelessly, you have to reinstall it and set it up for wireless use.

It's definitely a tiny printer. I submitted a photograph of it next to a water bottle and an iPod to the gallery at the top. So far, I haven't had any issues with it, but there are some things about it that I don't like.

Pros:
- Very small, especially when the various trays are folded up.
- Pretty fast.
- Good print quality.

Cons:
- The top paper feed tray folds up and back at about a 45 degree angle. It makes the printer take up a bit more space than I'd like.
- The printer doesn't automatically turn on or off. My old printers would automatically turn on when I print something and turn off after a few minutes.
- Pretty expensive compared to regular printers.

Overall, it's a good buy if space is at a premium or you need something portable. The quality is good and, so far, I haven't had any issues with paper jams or lockups.

My wife and I live 6 months per year in a motor home with not a lot of extra space, especially for a large printer. We do all our business via internet and email so a printer in essential. We had a different brand which worked fine, kinda slow and bulky but worked ok. This one is very small, compact and fast. Simply love it. Just wish I could figure out how to make very large font for speech writing.
