Review: Super Price for a Super Machine
by: Adam Petrone on date: July 21, 2006

First let me say I've owned many multifunction units over the years. I've paid 3 - 4 times the price of this unit and have not been as satisfied as I am with the 4315.

I mainly use this unit for copies and faxing. I make approx 200 flyers on it a week not to mention daily faxes. It has never let me down. The print is clear and crisp. I paid 89.00 for it and couldn't ask for anything more for the money. There are many improvements over the 4215. It's very easy to set up and use.

Love it!

Review: Well made multifunction printer
by: Gerald H. Nelson on date: July 21, 2006

I work in an investment firm .Everyone in the office received a new HP 4315, approx 3 months ago. Well we had canon units before and these blow them away. For ease of use and dependability these win hands down. I have never had a paper jam or a fax lost yet. They work as advertised and better, and we put them through the ropes.

A very well made multi - task printer.

Review: Excellent Product
by: Elizabeth Lipton on date: July 31, 2006
I bought the 4315 about one month ago, primarily because it has a sheet-fed scanner. I have scanned 200+ pages and have not had one problem. The software is very easy to use. I set the software to scan documents as "searchable PDFs." Also, it is much faster to scan documents with the 4315 than my flatbed scanner.
I also printed a few brochures using the color printer, and the quality was great.
I would highly recommend the 4315.

Review: Inexpensive value
by: P. N. Berry on date: August 24, 2006
First, got delivery (with regular shipping) in less than 24 hours - warehouse must have been just down the street! So, was positively predisposed.

Printer and fax set up was simple, sharing existing (VOIP) phone line. Printer is great quality and reasonably fast. Copies are slow enough to discourage heavy use, but convenient for a few copies.

Only downside at all? Small ink cartridges - keep spares handy.

Review: paper refused to feed ever.
by: Stanley L. Pace on date: August 28, 2006
Bought this brand new. Only one of the two paper rollers worked so the paper would never feed. Called customer service ahd they said they could not helop me other than to encourage me to return the unit. Must be a manufacturing problem. Very dissappointed that HP would not have tested this in the factory. I am very ticked! Will not buy HP again.

Review: AN AMAZING MACHINE, Very easy to us.
by: Don Dossey on date: August 25, 2006
Without going into a lot of detail, I am very impressed with the HP 4315 Officejet. I love it. Before I buy anything, I read all of the reviews. If it does not rate 4-5 stars, I probably wouldn't buy the product. Five stars are not enough for the HP 4315. Software with this machine is excellant.
If you are looking for an all in one printer, copy, scan, fax, I suggest you look no further and go straight to the checkout with this one.
My last printer was a Canon i950, no comparison.

Review: Flawless!
by: Terry J. Trainor on date: August 29, 2006
I was really only looking for a replacement for my scanner, since my old one was not XP compatable. After looking at prices, though, I thought - what the heck? I can get a scanner, printer, copier and FAX machine for just a few bucks more!
It arrived quickly (as always with Amazon!) and in fine condition. Unpacking was simple, set up was a breeze, and everything checked out fine.

No worries, Mate!

Review: Small, Yet Powerful Machine!!!
by: Medic on date: August 31, 2006
If you're looking for a machine that will let you fax, copy, print from your computer and scan, here is the machine for you! It's small, takes up little space AND if you're using it home for occasional use, you can fold up the top and bottom to take up even less room!

It's very user friendly and I'd say it took me longer to open the box and unpack it than it did to set it up and get it running!

What's very cools is that the machine aligns up the printing by itself. Put a paper through once, it prints on it then you put that SAME paper through again face down and it aligns up ALL by itself!

The only thing I'd give a warning for is to make sure you by a USB cable (not included) AND buy a black HP #21 and color HP #22 ink cartridge extra as even through they're included they're "test" cartridges and there is VERY little ink in them. And if you will be using it for photos you need to buy the Photo Ink HP (this is not included even in test ink).

Otherwise it's a great user friendly machine!

Plus if you buy through AMazon (not a 3rd party seller) you pay less, no sales tax and free shipping! You can't go wrong!

Review: What a great printer for a great price
by: Zen Girl on date: September 10, 2006
I have never owned a printer that I was overly impressed with until NOW! I got sick of paying hundreds of dollars for multifunction printers that were difficult to use and set up. So for this go around I decided to keep my budget under $100 dollars and I read many reviews and decided to take a chance on this printer. Boy am I glad I did. The set up on this was so easy. I was literally printing and faxing in minutes. I haven't used the scan mode yet but I'm sure that is as easy to use. I have DSL and even with that complicating factor I was able to set up this printer/fax/scanner and believe me I'm very technology phobic. The printer speed and quality are great and its not an ink guzzler at all. I"m thrilled with this purchase. I've never written a review before but this product is too fantastic not to rave over!

Review: Love this printer
by: DragonLady on date: September 17, 2006
Ordered this product from Amazon and it arrived well before scheduled date. I was very please. Has a nice small size and perfect for small places. Beautiful print jobs. Just make sure to check the manual for DSL connection. You may need to buy a "Y" connector for DSL hook-up. (I did. Not expensive)GREAT PRICE. Be sure to buy a USB cable if you don't have one. Buy both at Amazon...good deal.

Review: Good printing
by: krexel on date: October 29, 2006
This is a good machine, but why couldn't they include a USB cable, which is required to hook it up to a computer, which is required to use most of the software applications? For this reason, I say three stars on this one.

Review: Nice Printer

by: L. Brandis on date: January 4, 2007
I was running to Office Depot to make copies and send faxes, and paying their high prices, not to mention the time it took me. I finally decided to get this printer, and I'm so glad I did. It was really easy and quick to set up. It works great!! What I also like is that the printer cartridges are affordable. I got rid of another printer because the cartridges cost more than the printer itself. This printer truly does it all and does it well. It's a real workhorse. It meets the high standards of HP for reliability. The only drawback is the LED display is hard to read. I feel this printer is well worth the money.

Review: nice home copier/fax/printer
by: patcat on date: December 27, 2006
I got this model a few months ago, for a newly opened home office, and it has been very reliable and of good quality. i like the user-friendly manual and very easy to follow video graphics, e.g., how to get rid of paper jam (which doesn't happen very often). got it with HP black ink cartridge, which is also good quality, and the cartridge is very easy to install. It does go through the cartridges quickly, so 4 stars instead of 5. Overall, a great all in one copier/fax/printer.

Review: Nice device
by: Chimigi on date: December 1, 2006
I purchased this device for faxing purposes and it works just fine. I must say that the distance between the base and extension is not more than 20 feet. The only issue is the speed of faxing which is slow due to wireless nature of it and that is why I'm giving it a 4 star.

Review: Less than one star - BEWARE
by: tayloredone on date: February 3, 2007
This is a joke...there are constant problems with getting it to print and scan. The only function that works is the fax...so if you want use it solely as a fax, then by all means buy it. The cartridges are used up with a few photos. I had to buy 6 cartridges each color to complete a few photos. A nightmare that I paid for! I will never buy another HP again!

Review: Wow what a bargain !!!
by: J. Earl on date: January 9, 2007
I purchased this unit to replace a stand-alone fax machine and I got a lot more machine than I actually needed. However, having a color printer in my office has proven to be very helpful, as well as the ability to scan documents, images, etc (something else we couldn't do before). And the price can't be beat !!
It's easy to set up, easy to use all 4 functions (scan, copy, print, fax), the software is easy to learn and use.
All in all, WHAT A BARGAIN !!

Review: Best all in one I have ever used
by: Tamara L. Kropp on date: January 5, 2007
This does everything. It faxes, it copies-even copies both sides when you select that option. It prints beautiful. I got a digital camera and the prints came out beautiful! It scans just about everything, even small things that I didn't think would work, it worked great. A great deal for the small amount of money I spent and it only takes 1 color cartridge and 1 black ink cartridge which is easy on the budget. I would recommend this little all in one to anyone looking for a great performance all in one printer. The software is also pretty easy to use. Every time I use it I am so thankful that I bought it.

Review: Ok Printer, Little Slow and Can not use for booklet copy/scan
by: A. Panthri on date: January 5, 2007
This is a functional printer for low usage. A normal 20 page presentation takes about 20+ minutes to print. While it is good in whatever it does, and supposed to, do not buy if you want to copy pages from books/passports etc as it is not a fat blad copier/scanner.

Review: Printing on anything except paper is problematic
by: Reality Hammer on date: February 19, 2007
If you do a lot of printing on cd labels, business cards, etc. this is not the printer for you. The printer has an annoying habit of forgetting settings when the paper is changed resulting in a lot of wasted ink. The printer would either ignore margin settings (printing to the edge of the page, which would be fine if that is what I had wanted) or printing in such a way that the ink smeared (this is on card stock designed to be used with ink jet printers) even after several minutes exposed to air. As you can imagine this gets old after 10 wasted sheets of specialty paper and ink cartridges that go from full to empty.

This is a problem with every all-in-one I've purchased from HP (like the F335) so it is definitely a problem with HPs internal workings. Customer support didn't seem too surprised with my problems and suggested that I take it to a tech center for "tweaking". Um...sure. Just what I expect to do with a brand new printer.

Again, printing on normal paper isn't a problem, so if that is all you do or just need a home fax machine with occasional printing needs this printer is fine. Just beware of using anything else!

Review: Ink is Dear
by: Michael J. Plagens on date: March 15, 2007
This fax-printer is easy to use and set up. It has flawlessly printed several hundred document for us. However, given the cost of ink cartridges, the cost per page exceeds by several factors the cost of going to Kinkos, etc. for copies.

Review: Great all around device
by: Michael Busuttil on date: March 8, 2007
it works great and is definitely one of the best multi-functions for the money out there. My only 2 complaints about it is
1. There isn't an obvious way around installing the bundled HP software
2. The scanner is document-fed, not flatbed.
Despite those only 2 shortcomings, the printer's exceptional quality and speed as well as the scan quality make this all-in-one a great purchase.

Review: Great Printer 4315 All In One
by: Diane P. Krause on date: March 19, 2007
This is the third 4315 that I have bought in recent months. The first was recommended to me by a co-worker so I bought it for a client. Then the client was so in love with it that they bought an additional one, and then I bought one for my husband as well. Installs fast, works great, the software is simple and flawless, the replacement cartridges are reasonably priced and the quality is perfect for a desktop unit. Love the scanning software with the automatic feed. I was really tired of the flat top scanners.

by: K. CASS on date: April 10, 2007
I purchased this HP all-in-one new from Amazon in Feb 2007 and it worked great for about two months. Then I started getting a half inch wide black strip down the side of every page I try to scan, fax or copy. After spending 45 minutes on the phone with a nice young lady from India and jumping through numerous hoops and maneuvers she finally transferred me to the hardware support people who never picked up the phone. I give up. I guess I'll use this to print and receive faxes and use my old Epson 4490 Photo scanner to scan and send faxes. What a waste of time and money! Don't buy this piece of garbage. Better to spend a little more and get something that works more than 2 months.

This printer is good and cheap. The only bad part is that its scanner is a fax-like scanner, which cannot scan books.

I have had very good service from this machine. Copies are very good and the machine is fast. The only problem I have with the machine is that it goes through printer cartridges kind of fast. It would be better if the printer cartridges were larger. Otherwise, a great machine. Have been using HP products for several years, and all have been very good.

Review: HP officejet 4315
by: Rogelio Rubio on date: November 10, 2006
The printer and copier are better than others but the scan has two little problems, it need to read a short time but the quality is great but it isn't the best and the second to read more than one sheet it need more than one file. The printer is excellent but it use the ink so fast, then it result so expensive.

Review: A step down
by: Ra Mclaughlin on date: November 10, 2006
This printer is definitely a step down from my previous printer, an HP T series 3 in 1. The paper feed is an issue, and even when there is paper in the tray, I get an error message that the paper tray is empty. It will not take any specialty papers, such as:labels, postcards, or thicker card stock. It would not even take regular weight colored paper. This purchase was a mistake!

Review: Inexpensive, but functional
by: S. K. Shuttleworth on date: November 7, 2006
I bought this to replace the "free" Epson all-in-one that I got when I purchased my MacMini. The Epson was a disaster; it worked (barely) at first, then needed all color cartridges to be replaced ($$$)and then refused to work after 2 sheets had passed through with marginal readability. Thus far, this machine has done all that I've needed, though I don't make extensive copies on my home computer. I don't FAX, so I've no experience with that element.

As a side issue, the Air America advertising blackout by Hewlett Packard has made me extremely unlikely to ever purchase their products again. There are other choices and this kind of reactionary stand by a producer/retailer is sufficient to make me look elsewhere.

Review: Compact printer
by: Dorothy Schmidt on date: November 4, 2006
Takes up little space. Produces clear concise copies. Makes a lot of noise. Cartridges sometimes get stuck after printing and have to open printer or turn off computer to get them to work again. Cannot copy books because it does not have a flatbed. Good for light use, but I wouldn't buy it again.

Review: Good printing
by: krexel on date: October 29, 2006
This is a good machine, but why couldn't they include a USB cable, which is required to hook it up to a computer, which is required to use most of the software applications? For this reason, I say three stars on this one.

Love it!
