HP A616 Photosmart Compact Photo Printer
I recently bought the A616 and it is very easy to operate, not complicated at all. Perfect size. This is definitely user friendly. The pictures come out very clear and nice. The ink cartridges are at a reasonable cost which was also important to me.
Got this for my son-in-law for Christmas. He loves to tinker with computers and electronics, and this has been a great buy. He connected it up to the TV so that we were able to view several family members' pictures in a slide show, and printed selected pics quickly. It's a great portable size, quality was good, took him just a few minutes to set it up, and was delighted with the results.
I just bought this printer for my wife for Christmas and I must say it is amazing. The print quality is the same as shutterfly and better than costco. I bought her the battery pack and case and she loves it. She is not tech savy and she has no problems using it. It usualy takes about 2 minutes to print a 4X6 picture at great quality. We plan to take it on all trips to Grandma's.
I purchased this printer and loved the results. Like the other comments stated it was very east to operate. If there is something that is not clear just refer to the manual and it will help you out. Printing out a 5x7 photo is easy and the results come out great. This is a good printer that is worth the price.
My mother in law bought one of these printers for each of her kids. She also bought a jump drive for us to use with it. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with it. We are really disappointed about that, I'm even going to see if there are some special drivers we need to load or something to get the jump drive to work. So make sure your jump drive works with it BEFORE you buy it. Also, it doesn't work with my sister in law's smart media card. That was a bummer too. Other than that, we are very pleased with the photo quality and I'm excited to play around with all the fun software that's on it. We will be taking it with us on all our trips. I would've given it 5 stars if it worked with my jump drive.
Loved the printer, does a really nice job on those 5x7's. I did have some initial complications with the paper feed, but after I found the rest for the fixed (versus movable) side all is well!
In this photo printer, HP does an excellent job of matching what you want in terms of performance with what you want to pay. It works with a variety of media cards, and produces crisp photos fairly quickly from a variety of formats. I highly recommend it.

She was able to set up the printer, print photos and use the editing features on her own the first day she had it. The photo quailty and speed is impressive. The unit stores convieniently ans it has a great look and feel.
